Happy 30th Birthday, Eli Manning

Rather than lament over the disappointing conclusion to the Giants’ season (in this particular post anyway), I’d like to wish quarterback, Eli Manning, a happy 30th birthday.

Eli and I have a few things in common: We both turn 30 this month, we both support the Giants (albeit in very different capacities), and we both have two eyes and a nose.
Unlike me, Eli is rich and has a Super Bowl ring and was the MVP of that Super Bowl.

His career arc has been a strange one: He had the expected ups and downs of a young quarterback in his first two full seasons as a starter before reaching the pinnacle in his third, in 2007, by leading the Giants to a championship. The last two seasons were mostly solid for Eli, but in 2010 he led the NFL in turnovers in a season that should have seen the team make the playoffs.

I’m one Giants fan who still believes Eli can lead the team to some great things, even in his now-old age of 30 and beyond!
